A Personal Message to My Patients

I believe the practice of medicine is a marriage of the best science and critical thinking with a healthy partnership between doctor and patient. I have always felt that the time I spend listening to you and working together to determine the best course of action is the best medicine, achieving the best outcomes.

Dr. John Patrick Stein, MD As you know, there is an important distinction between good and optimal medical care. While good care meets the government and medical guidelines set forth for standard of care, in my opinion, optimal care should exceed these standards to allow me to assist my patients to achieve the best quality of life. Throughout my years as a doctor in private practice, my goal has always been to optimize health in each individual at every stage of life.

Unfortunately, today’s healthcare environment rewards speed and technology, not listening, thinking and compassion. My ability to continue to spend the kind of time I believe is necessary to provide you with the highest quality of care is being threatened. I refuse to compromise my standards.

Therefore, after much thoughtful consideration, I have made the decision to change my medical practice to a more personalized approach, one that is truly patient focused. This will allow me to continue to care for my patients in a comprehensive manner and be fully dedicated to your medical needs . . . to anticipate and potentially prevent the onset of disease, provide education on the latest advancements in medicine and coordinate your medical care with all other involved professionals. Additionally, I believe, too often we underestimate the power of time needed to create strong personal connections – a listening ear, a gentle touch and the opportunity to get to know patients more fully – healthcare without compromise.

I am excited to return to the way I believe the practice of medicine should be, and I look forward to remaining your personal physician for many years to come.

Most sincerely,

sig

Dr. John Patrick Stein, MD
